SPEAKER BIOS

Roddy Winder is a seasoned law enforcement professional with over two decades of service at the Wichita Police Department. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Roddy brings a disciplined and analytical approach to his work. He is a graduate of Wichita State University and has dedicated more than 21 years to public safety, with the last four years focused on investigating financial crimes.

As a detective specializing in cryptocurrency, forgery, and scam-related cases, Roddy has developed deep expertise in navigating the complexities of modern financial fraud. His work involves tracking digital assets, uncovering sophisticated fraud schemes, and protecting the community from emerging financial threats. Roddy’s commitment to justice and his ability to adapt to evolving technologies make him a trusted resource in the fight against financial crime.

Mariah Johnson is a Special Agent with IRS-Criminal Investigation, where she has served since March 2023. Prior to joining IRS-CI, she spent over seven years in the banking industry, with experience spanning both front-line and back office operations. Her background includes three years specializing in Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) compliance, during which she earned her Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) credential from ACAMS. As an IRS-CI Special Agent, Mariah also serves as co-chair of the Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) program in partnership with the U.S. Attorney's Office. In this role, she works closely with financial institutions to analyze SARs and facilitate referrals to federal and local law enforcement agencies. Her investigative focus includes criminal tax violations, money-laundering, and complex financial crimes such as wire fraud, bank fraud, and public corruption.

Jamie Cosgrove is an attorney working for the Kansas Bankers Association as a Manager in the Legal Department. She completed her law degree in 2021 after nearly twenty years of commercial banking in Colorado and Kansas.

After completing and undergraduate degree at Kansas State University, she began her career as a banker in Denver where she specialized in commercial real estate and business lending. Jamie returned home to Kansas so that her children could grow up closer to their grandparents and families. She has continued working in banking as a Marketing President and commercial lender in the Manhattan area where her experience in banking and work in the community encouraged her to pursue a Juris Doctor degree. She worked in private practice as a transactional law and estate planning attorney before joining the Kansas Bankers Association where she currently works with a team of attorneys and compliance specialist assisting Kansas banks with legal, regulatory and compliance inquiries.

Outside of her professional world, she and her family spend most days in a mad rush to youth sports, school and community activities, or just trying to hold the household together (and fit in some laundry cycles) in between everything.

Jilenne Gunther, JD, MSW, is a national leader in preventing financial exploitation and the Director of AARP’s BankSafe Initiative—a cross-sector intervention platform credited with stopping an estimated $400 million in fraud. She brings a unique blend of legal expertise, social work training, and policy innovation to the financial industry’s front lines. Gunther began her career in a prosecutor’s office advocating for crime victims and rose to leadership roles at the state level, where she played a key role in legal compliance related to elder financial exploitation investigations and helped shape statewide legal strategies for consumer protection.

At the national level, she has transformed how financial institutions prevent exploitation—equipping frontline staff in financial institutions with tools to recognize and stop suspicious transactions before the money leaves the account. Her work is recognized for its measurable impact, industry-wide reach, and focus on scalable solutions.

Gunther’s research and models have been replicated in over 40 states and cited in CFPB advisories, GAO reports, FTC reports, and prior U.S. Senate hearings. She has received more than 15 national and state-level honors for her leadership in financial protection and systemic reform.  She holds a Juris Doctor and Master of Social Work.
